Privacy Policy

 

This Privacy Policy sets out how I, Jane Barnfield uses and protects any information that you give either in person or when you use this website.

 

Should I ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

 

I am committed to protecting the privacy of the client and families I work with. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand what information I gather, how I use it, what I do to protect it and to assist you in making informed decision when using any of my services.

 

For the purposes of this Policy “Service” referred to any services you may request from me (Maternity Nurse Support, proxy parenting, Birth Support, Consultancy, Troubleshooting). The term “I” refers to me as the company. “You” refers to you as the service user.

 

In the process of working with you, I will be requesting personal and non-personal information about you and your baby, in order for me to provide you with the support or service you have requested. This information will only be collated with your consent and under the lawful basis of contractual. All six lawful basis are detailed below for your information.

 

 

(a) Consent:

The individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.

(b) Contract:

The processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

(c) Legal obligation:

The processing is necessary for you to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).

(d) Vital interests:

The processing is necessary to protect someone’s life.

(e) Public task:

The processing is necessary for you to perform a task in the public interest or for your official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.

(f) Legitimate interests:

The processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests. (This cannot apply if you are a public authority processing data to perform your official tasks.)

 

Where I require consent, I will provide a way for you to positively make a decision about the information that you make available and how this is shared.

 

This information will be collected by myself, Jane Barnfield as part of the contractual legal basis. I will be asking for this data verbally at our initial meeting either over the telephone, Skype or face to face and recording it on paper forms and or digitally.

 

The information that I require will be (but not limited to):

 

* Baby’s name

* Baby’s date of birth

* Baby’s age

* Baby’s address

* Parents’ names, addresses, contact numbers

* Birth delivery information/Health information

* Emergency contact names, addresses and contact number

* Baby’s doctor’s name and contact number

* Midwife/Health clinic/health visitor

* Child’s NHS number

* A history of routine or areas of concern when offering consultancy /troubleshooting

* Any allergies/medical history/ requirements

* Information about immunisations (if applicable)

* Whether the child has any special needs or disabilities

* Any other children in the home

 

I will always only collate the necessary information about you and your baby, to carry out the service highlighted in the contract.

I will not use your information to contact you about things that are not relevant to the service I am providing you. I may communicate with you in response to your enquiries and in line with the services that have been contractually agreed. I will communicate via email, Skype, Facetime, text or What’s App messengers’ and telephone.

 

I am legally required to hold and use this personal data in order to comply with the statutory framework of England/Wales; this data will be used to:

 

* Support your baby’s development

* Monitor, record, share and report on your baby’s progress

* Contact named people in an emergency

* Share with other professionals in accordance with legislation

* Ensure a contract of service is delivered and maintained

 

With your permission this data may be, when necessary, shared with:

 

* Other professionals supporting your baby, for example, temp cover maternity nurses, health visitor, other health or education professional

* The local safeguarding children’s board or Social Services Referral and Assessment Team if ever necessary.

* Health professionals in the event of a medical emergency or routine appointment.

 

You have the right at any time to request to see the information I hold and share about you and your baby, amend it or the right “to be forgotten” at any time.

 

I am required by law to keep some information about you and your baby for a period of 7 years after the contract has expired. I will keep a digital record of this, which will be held password protected on my laptop and disposed of securely at the correct time.
