Preparing for your new arrival

There are lots of things you can do to prepare yourself to welcome your baby home and make those first few days run smoothly. Here are my top 5 tips:

Measure your front door and your boot space BEFORE you buy your buggy

Stock up on lots of cotton wool pads (not balls as they are fiddly and stick) and nappies. Size 0 is nearly always good for the first few days unless you are expecting a 10lb baby. After a few weeks you can switch to water wipes but I prefer to use as few products as possible on newborn skin.

Sleep! And then sleep when baby does. Rest, rest and more rest.

Always prepare ahead, and when baby is born prepare for the next day by washing bottles and stocking the nappy bag. It takes 10 minutes the night before and saves chaos the next day!

Freeze meals ahead of time for the first few weeks. If anyone offers to help they can do this for you!
